MDR-TB is defined as the Mycobacterium tuberculosis that is resistant to isoniazid and rifampicin, which is strongly related to previous TB disease and its treatment.
Resistance to anti-tuberculosis (TB) drugs has been an increasing challenge to global TB control in the past years, with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) constituting the major part of drug-resistant tuberculosis This national survey is therefore aimed at estimating the prevalence of MDR-TB and associated risk factors amongst TB treatment naïve patients bacteriologically diagnosed with pulmonary TB in Cameroon.
